1. What’s a fun fact about you

I am an avid football supporter and season ticket holder.

2. What is your favourite thing about coming to work?

I enjoy spending time with both my team and the children in the rooms whenever possible. It’s rewarding when the children are excited to see me and eager to share news and experiences from their time with me.

3. Why did you choose to work in early years education?

Having always had a passion for child development, I began my journey by volunteering for a charity that supported children. Growing up in difficult circumstances myself, witnessing the impact my colleagues had on disadvantaged children prompted me to reflect on my own childhood and the difference a similar service could have made in my life. This experience was inspiring and motivated me to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children who needed it most. I went on to work for the charity for six years, during which time I also gained my Early Years qualification.

4. What passions do you have within the Early Years curriculum?

Coming from an outdoor background, I am passionate about implementing activities that promote physical development. Encouraging resilience and independence in children is particularly important to me.

5. What’s the best thing about Working Mums Battersea?

The best thing about my nursery is the passion and camaraderie within the team. Everyone is incredibly nurturing towards the children and highly supportive of one another, which creates a warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere.

6. How do you create family partnerships at Working Mums Battersea?

As a manager, I find it extremely important to build strong relationships with parents on both a personal and professional level. Understanding their backgrounds, work commitments, and support networks enables me to identify how we can best support each family, particularly first-time parents. Staff keep parents well informed about their children’s learning journeys and work in close partnership with them. By working collaboratively, we are able to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children in our care.
